Grades K–5
Our program is based on the New Catechism of the Catholic Church. The Catechism’s emphasis on creed, sacraments, and moral life of the Christian as well as prayer, rooted in and supported by the Scriptures, is the emphasis and structure of this program.
We also have a program for Elementary children with Special Education Needs. Our goal is to make them feel welcome and learn more about their faith. Please call the Faith Formation office at (512) 258-1161 for more information.Class Times
You may choose to register for the following class options for Elementary grades (K-5):- Sundays from noon to 1:15 p.m.
- Mondays from 4 to 5:15 p.m.
- Mondays from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.
- Tuesdays from 4 to 5:15 p.m.
Elementary Home Study
Are you having difficulties scheduling Faith Formation classes? We offer a Home Study option for grades K-1st and 3rd-5th. This is a great opportunity to work with your children at home and teach them about their Catholic faith. Please select the Home Study Registration button on the Faith Formation Registration page to register for this option.
Register for Home StudyFirst Communion and First Reconciliations
Children in 2nd grade prepare to receive the sacraments of Eucharist (First Communion) and Reconciliation. Children should be registered in Faith Formation preferably for 2 years (1st grade and 2nd grade) before receiving these sacraments. A copy of the Baptism certificate must be turned in for any child making a sacrament. These are due no later than December 1. Even if your child was baptized at St. Thomas More, we need a copy of their certificate.
Older Student Sacrament Preparation Program (OSSP)
Does your child over the age of 7 (past 2nd grade) need to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, or Eucharist? Our Elementary Older Student Sacrament Preparation (OSSP) program is a two-year program designed for any students in grades 3rd-5th who have not received these sacraments. The sacrament preparation class is scheduled for Sundays from 12:00 noon-1:15 pm. Contact Jill Goeters for more information.
