Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) provides a special opportunity for children ages 4 through 5th grade to engage in the Sunday Liturgy of the Word through age-appropriate readings, prayers, and lessons that align with the Sunday Mass theme. Children under 4 are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a parent.
After the Opening Prayer, the children are invited to gather and are escorted to Brennan Auditorium by our volunteer teachers. In this welcoming space, they hear the Bible readings presented in an engaging, child-friendly manner. The children participate in singing, follow along with the lesson, and offer their own prayer intentions, allowing them to connect with God at their own developmental level. At the conclusion of the Liturgy of the Word, the children return to the church to rejoin their families for the remainder of the service.
Weekly Activity Pages & Parent Engagement
Each week, children receive an activity page that reinforces the theme of the day’s Mass, helping them reflect on the readings and teachings in a fun, interactive way. Parents are encouraged to talk with their children about what they learned during the children’s liturgy. Asking questions and having a conversation after Mass helps deepen the child’s understanding and strengthens their connection to the faith.
Parents, don't forget to share your own reflections and experiences too! This shared dialogue between parents and children enhances the faith of the entire family and creates a meaningful connection to the Mass.
