Pastoral –The parish community provides assistance to women in difficult or unanticipated pregnancies in a loving, unconditional, nonjudgmental manner.
Evangelical – Gabriel Project volunteers announce the good news of Jesus Christ through the care they offer to those in need of assistance, and witness to the whole community the infinite and healing love of God.
Educational – The parish community proclaims the truth of the dignity of each human person made in the image and likeness of God by its commitment to those in need.
To provide emotional, material and spiritual support for pregnant women and families in need. We seek to plant the seed of God's love within the hearts of women and men who feel overwhelmed, lost, alone and afraid - whether rich or poor, single, married, young or older.
To offer hope and support to mothers and fathers during and after pregnancy–regardless of the circumstances surrounding the pregnancy
To provide assistance in a confidential and non-judgmental manner
To strengthen families so that so that children can grow in a nurturing environment
To provide life-affirming support for those facing difficult or unexpected pregnancies

Gabriel Project Life Centers, operated by Catholic Charities in Austin and Bryan, offer free pregnancy tests; pregnancy, parenting and childbirth classes; emotional, material and spiritual support. Earn points toward toward large baby items–strollers, play pens, swings, boxed diapers, and wipes—during the first year after the birth of a child.
Here in Austin Gabriel Project Life Centers offers free pregnancy tests to women in need on Saturday mornings at East 6th Street and Chicon in Austin. Call 512-236-0144 or Diocesan-wide 1-877-WE CARE 2 to schedule a test; walk-ins are welcome. A central phone number is available to receive help from both Project Rachel and Gabriel Project. Trained volunteers are scheduled to answer the phone calls, which are forwarded into the volunteer's home. All inquiries are kept confidential.
The John Paul II Life Center provides pregnancy tests, sonograms to medically verify pregnancy, fertility education, pre-natal care through the Vitae Clinic. The clinic also provides abstinence education in schools and in the community
Annunciation Maternity Home is located in Georgetown and offers long-term housing to pregnant girls and women with or without children. The home has a charter school for its residents and non-residents who qualify.
Our Lady of the Angels Maternity Shelter was formed due to the Gabriel Project's need to find housing for homeless pregnant women. Located in Temple, it serves the Central Texas area. It is licensed, incorporated and has 501c3 status.
