ALL library operations are conducted by volunteers of the Library Ministry, a part of the Adult Faith Formation Religious Education program. The Library Ministry has two goals:
To staff the library following all weekend Masses and during the week to the extent possible depending on the volunteers available
Develop a collection of resources that will educate and inspire parishioners in their journey of faith and serve as a resource to parish ministries
Would you be willing to serve your parish as a library host? A library host commits to staffing the library after a Mass for 30 to 40 minutes, once or twice a month. Parents may also serve as a host during their children’s Religious Education class. A host’s responsibilities include:
Helping patrons find material
Assisting with check outs
Checking in returned material(s)
Shelving materials
You can also volunteer for other “behind the scenes” library operations, special projects, and events, including:
Assisting with the Book Fair
Facilitating Book Discussions and Reviews
Processing new material
Updating the data base
Conducting inventory
All necessary training is provided.
