Marketing is a sub-category of advertising that places a particular emphasis on connecting with the audience. On this page, you'll find information to help you market your ministry, events and initiatives in professional and effective ways.
While the parish staff stands ready to help you with your marketing needs, our experience shows the passion and deep knowledge you have for your ministry is the key ingredient in creating relevant and compelling marketing material. This page is a collection of information and resources that will help you in the marketing of your events and initiatives. If you need any further assistance, you'll find our contact information at the bottom of this page.
Why is it important that your content be relevant and compelling? According to a 2015 study, it was found that we encounter 4,000 - 10,000 ads every day. That study was done eight years ago. Can you imagine what the number might look like today? The only way to pierce all of that noise, is to stir the heart of our audience by being helpful, educational, inspiring, entertaining, etc.
These channels are vehicles by which you can get your message to your audience. Keep in mind, certain segments of our audience pay closer attention to particular channels over others. It's important to make sure your marketing efforts are spent on the relevant channels for your audience, not necessarily yourself.
Select one of the channels from the list below to learn about this channel and access relevant information to help you leverage the channel.

As a customer of Diocesan, we have access to their Library of Art. Most pieces found in this library are free to use. There are some that need to be purchased (using funds from the respective ministry's budget). This library is categorized by liturgical year, theme and saints. If you want something downloaded from this site, please email the communications director the title and link to the piece.

The Catholic stock photography site, Cathopic, has a collection of art pieces available on the Public Domain. Their collections are organized by artist. Unfortunately, pieces of art do not show up in the site search results at this time.

As staff come across usable pieces or as pieces are used on covers of The Bulletin, they are added to these collections. Once viewing the collections, click on the tiles to open the record and see larger versions of the piece. Once the record is open, you can download the piece in the attachment field.

Photography is our preferred visual asset category as it allows our audience to see real parishioners in real places on campus as well as enables them to see themselves in/with that which we are promoting. Other asset categories, such as clip art, present practical limitations such as sizing, clarity and style.
The following are collections of photos that we can use for promotional purposes:
This is our digital asset management system (DAM) containing pictures of our campus, people and events. Those who are clearly pictured in these photos have given their written consent for these photos to be used by parish staff and volunteers for promotional purposes.
If you would like to discuss having pictures of your events or ministries added to our DAM, please contact our communications director (contact information is available at the bottom of this page).
This is a website containing Catholic photography and fine art availble through the public domain. In order to download photos from this site, you must create a free account. As we do not currently have a Cathopic Pro subscription, you will be limited to the free photos available on the site.
This is a website containing high-quality royalty-free photography. We do not currently have an Unsplash+ subscription so you are limited to just the free photos available on this site.
While there is a rich collection of Catholic photos available through Unsplash, it should be kept in mind that it is a secular company that maintains the photos and as such, there are also more worldly photos included in the larger collection of photos.
