ways to get active at St. Thomas More

Men are vital to the flourishing of the family, the Church, and society as a whole. Knowing where and how to get started can be difficult and overwhelming.

At St. Thomas More, there are many ways to get active and live out your faith as a Catholic man. Here are two organizations you should consider joining first:

Knights of Columbus   MAN UP!   Men's Club

      • “Real love is not passive; because one cannot feel it without being ready to fight for it.”

        G.K. Chesterton

    • Vocational Discernment
WHAT IS GOD CALLING YOU TO?

The primary call for every Christian is to be holy — to become like God.
“This is the will of God: your holiness,” (1 Thessalonians 4:3).

With the universal call to holiness, God calls each person to serve Him in a particular way. Are you hoping to discover your vocation (i.e. primary calling)?
We’re here to help you discern God’s call in your life and ultimately your vocation whatever that may be. Here are a few resources we’ve collected to get you started:

      Priesthood   Religious Life   Married Life
      • “I do not care very much what men say of me, provided that God approves of me.”

        St. Thomas More

    • Our Liturgical Life
YOU CAN BE A PART OF IT

Here at St. Thomas More, having men participate in our liturgical life—our communal prayer to and worship of God—is vital to increasing vocations and witnessing to the centrality of the Mass in our lives. After all, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Eucharist are the source and summit of our Catholic faith.

Here are a few ways men of St. Thomas More are welcome to assist during or after our liturgies:

      • Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers (EMHC)*
      • EMHC to the Sick and Homebound*
      • Music Ministry
      • Hospitality
      • Lector*

*Men must be at least 18 years old, in good standing with the Church, and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation.

If you aren’t Catholic but are wanting to join the Church, you can learn more here.
